I’m a medically retired vet from the US. Take a second to see how this song relates to those we leave behind on deployment. This song relates to the torture of not knowing if they'll come home, the loneliness, the burden of maintaining the home. Remember those deployed, but more than that... remember the families they leave behind. They need support, so even the kindness of mowing their lawn, taking out their trash can be the ONE thing they need at that moment.

This tune breaks my heart every time I hear it. Released just a few months after losing my childhood sweetheart who I never saw again. 30 years on and the pain is still so real and the truth is I still love that girl.

This is an incredible song. My husband and I divorced 15 years ago but always loved each other deeply. We stayed close and always depended on the other for certain thing. Our bond was unbearable. We divorced because a one time marital affair. I wish I could have forgiven but I didn’t. The pain was too much. This song tells us that we are ONE and will always be together. Remarried March 11, 2020. We will continue to love. But all the years we missed !
