Think about the love inside, the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren’t going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong, believe
Be strong, believe
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring it down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong, believe
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong, believe
(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site
one year ago
And also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos,
to help us make sense of our despair.)
Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they’ll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change or two right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong, believe
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong, believe
Think about the love inside, the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
(The world will little note, nor longer remember what we say here,
but it can never forget what they did here)
my sister posted this song to my wall after having to go through another health scare with cancer and my will being shattered. i havent heard it in 4 years.
"Again Today...We keep in Our Hearts and Minds, those who perished on this Site 12 Years ago...And also, those who came to toil in the rubble; to bring order out of chaos...in order to help Us make sense out of Our despair.." - Bloomberg
"The World will little note, nor long remember what it is We say here...but it can NEVER forget, what THEY did here." - Abraham Lincoln; quoted by Pataki
I look upon the Comments here; They're SO powerful! United We stand! Divided We fall! I love You Guys.
I listen to this song as I did when it came out years ago, in rememberance of that terrible tragedy in our country...the world, actually. And I pay respect and honor to all those lost 18 years ago, due to the hatred and ignorance in our world, we suffer immensely from, still.
Never forget.
9/11, 2001
It kept on playing in my head at school. "Everything is gonna be alright, everything is gonna be alright" It doesn't just portray 9/11 it's really inspiring altogether.
My history teacher showed us this song today.. absolutely heart touhing. I will never forget this day for as long as I live... rip to all of the victims and hereos. Thank you for everything. You will never be forgetten.
The reaction I had years ago listening to this song, not knowing what it was about until the sound bytes started playing during the song. It was mind blowing, monumental and emotional, something few songs can capture
Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know.
How much I love to see them smile.
Wanna make a change right here right now.
Wanna live a life like you somehow.
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile.
Does this remind anyone else of Toto - Africa???
Like there was a short part at the beginning, but that bit at the end I'm sure is too similar for coincidence
This isn't about soldiers as heroes. This is about ordinary people who died in America, close to home. Just remember, there is never a good reason to kill someone. And in your position, you have responsibility for yourself and others.
