Now if you load your rifle right And if you fix your bayonet so And if you kill that man, my friend The one we call the foe And if you do it often lad And if you do it right You'll be a hero overnight You'll save your country from a fight Remember God is always right If you survive to see the sight A friend now greeting foe No you won't believe in If anymore If's an illusion If's an illusion No you won't believe in If anymore If is for children If is for children Building daydreams If I knew then what I know now (I thought I did you know somehow) If I could have the time again I'd take the sunshine leave the rain If only time would trickle slow Like rain that melts the fallen snow If only Lord if only If only Lord if only Oh I don't believe in If anymore If's an illusion If's an illusion No I don't believe in If anymore If is for children If is for children Building daydreams No I don't believe in If anymore It's an illusion It's an illusion No I don't believe in If anymore If is for children If is for children Building daydreams

A masterclass in control and pitch. No autotune here. Do you believe his song? You bet, performance magic ! Thank you for uploading.

"If only" I could go back and hear this for the first time again . . . He has been one of my favorite singers for decades now, and this is one of his best songs. Bravo, Roger!

It is amazing to me to see how many of us listened to this in the living room with our parents. This and other Whittaker songs send me right back to those times. Thanks for posting this.

I can't listen to this without getting emotional. Heard it again on the brilliant series "Life on mars" and was taken back to my youth. Love it.

Roger was a favorite at VOK in Nairobi in the early/mid '60's.I remember him and his "whisting" songs best of all. The one you might like the best is "Elizabethan Serenade."

Pure nostalgia, even though he is fortunately still alive - that must surely make him a living legend even if only for me and other fans...

The older I get the more I gravitate towards the songs my parents played when I was a child. He is one of my favorites

I had the privilege of seeing Roger live in the early 1970s. One of very few performers that sound even better live than on record.
