This song came out when my parents were getting a divorce. I was 9. I raised my brother. My dad had a new family and his wife still to this day is a bitch. Only her 2 sons matter. If my dad showed my brother and I too much attention she'd threaten him with divorce. My mom's second husband was a crack head. She still has his last name because it was difficult to change it in the first place. I'm 25. My brother is 24 and we just found out he's having a baby. It finally set in that he's all grown up. We're both ex military because that is the only way we could take care of ourselves when we turned 18. I had to grow up when I was 9. If I have kids and happen to get a divorce I'm not going to do that to my kids. My parents were very self absorbed because they were teen parents and suddenly they didn't have to deal with each other anymore. I'll let my kids be kids and I'll take care of them. I'm really fucked up but I managed to make something of myself. I'm on my 2nd career. This shit wasn't easy and it certainly wasn't my fault.

I didn’t even have family problems like that growing up but I always liked the song. Boy, Pink is so hurt!

the shittiest thing about broken homes is when the adults stay together thinking it's best for the kids, as if we don't know what's going on.

This song reminds me of my childhood and all the damage it done to me as an adult. Still bring tears every time u hear it.

Just realized this video is about her dealing with the trauma of her childhood as an adult

I know now why my daughter listened to this song. It was me and her dad fighting all the time. She didn’t deserve to have this life. We both got away from him but way too late. Sorry Liz

I’m 30 and after all these years it finally hit me, what exactly the little girl represents in the video. I mean, I always understood that she was the “young Pink”, but I was today years old, when I saw clearly as day, that all this is to show how the traumatized kid in the grown-up Pink is messing up with her adult life. I got it now because I realized it myself not so long ago. I used to think that sad childhood is tragic just for ruining what’s supposed to be the happiest time of life. But it’s even more than that.

This song has always made me ugly cry. Growing up in a broken home is neither fun nor romantic. It's a hell I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies.

I remember being 12 years old when this came out - in a broken home listening to this song - now in 2020 it still hits me in the feels :(

Growing up in an abusive/toxic household is never easy. I’m almost done. Ready to go...grew up listening to this song and here I am 8-10 years later still listening and relating to each and every single lyric. Sad I have to leave my brother, but after 10 years they still fight and just won’t separate. Pink was honestly my inspiration and still is, I don’t know if a song will ever hurt me as much as this one does each time I listen to it. But it’s worth it

It's amazing how a childhood trauma prevents you from loving someone, "I dont want love to destroy me like it did my family". It was a lifetime to start loving MYSELF first, many years of therapy. Now I have to learn how to love a partner without loosing myself in the middle. This song is heartbreaking.
