Yes Mr. Loudermilk's original song is a little soft, but it has great bones. He plays a classical guitar, which is difficult to "belt out" a song on (he also has no backing band). His specialty is writing songs (many songs) & without this mellow version there would be no "edgy" versions "with attitude", done by performers.

most famous version was the nashville teens. funny thing is they werent from nashville.....in fact they werent even from america. they were british. that was the rock and roll version every garage band learned back in the 60s
