It doesn't matter who wrote it. It's a great song and I really love this version.

I like both this and Nirvana's version.  Beautiful song. And, I agree with other posters, the lyrics are pure poetry.

i prefer the nirvana version, i think the bass really made the song and Kurts voice is just ughhhh so perfect lol. but i really like this version too.. people complaining about how Courtney ruined the song should just shut up, she took an idea that Kurt felt was not enough to be on his album and gave it to Courtney to make it complete and i think that beautiful.

I love Nirvana's version and Hole's version equally because they're both amazing

Anyone who is an ACTUAL Nirvana fan will realize Kurt GAVE this song to Courtney and she 're wrote it and he said himself that she was an amazing poet. That came from his own mouth.

I actually really like this. It's not word for word the original and it's pretty. She has her own twist on it.

Both Courtney and Kurt's versions of this song are lovely. Courtney is a fantastic singer, same goes with Kurt.

"Someday she wont have to fake it, living itself will seem sacred " that line hits me like a ton of bricks...its so powerful. ..love this song..and i really like the different versions of it, and takes between hole, and kurts ...the one with kurts demo where he says "im deaf, dumb and blind" oooooooh powerful. .kinda crazy how somewhat the same song can be different, yet moving in their own ways

I love this. .and having kurt sing "rest in pieces " while Courtney sings "im sorry, so sorry" ..powerful....i think when kurt passed Courtney lost her muse

To be honest, I prefer Hole's lyrics but I prefer the way in Nirvana's version you can hear the drums and bass more visibly
