There was a time I was down, down
I didn’t know what to do
I was just stumbling around, around
Thinking things could not improve
I couldn’t look on the bright side
Of anything at all
That’s when you gave me a call
And I feel better, better, better than before
I feel better, better, better, now I’m not down any more
And there were times I was sure, so sure
I couldn’t turn it around
I couldn’t care any more
About the good things I found
That’s when you gave me a reason
To make me smile again
I only have to see you and then
I feel better, better, better than before
I feel better, better, better, now I’m not down any more
I feel better, better, better than before
I feel better, better, better, now I’m not down any more
Life sometimes seems to get the best of you
Like everything just brings you down
Just when you think there’s nothing you can do
A friendly face will bring you around
And you’ll feel better
You’ll feel better, you’ll feel better
Better than before
You’ll feel better, much better
No you won’t be down any more
this song has been like a blister in my ears. I keep hearing it, and it won't go away until I listen to it again. I love his vocals and the soul that is translated. It's pure joy, and always makes me 'Feel Better' The digital horns are messy but somehow never that big a problem for me.

I think about a certain girl i'd never date, the friendship is too strong, when I hear this song. I sang this to her once. And now she won't speak to me...
His videos remind me of the great Peter Gabriel and his vocals sound both like Sting and Steve Winwood. On top of that there is also something in the music that reminds me of Phil Collins.
Gotye, thank you for this song. I've been having a rough time, but whenever I put this song on it honestly lifts my spirits. No other song has made such an emotional impact on me like this. I know you'll probably never read this, but thank you for your amazing talent you have shared with the world.

It wasn't plagiarism. Try again.
The first thing i noticed about this song was how close it was to the Motown sound. I do not hear enough tambourines anymore. Anyway, I was surprised to find out that it's Gotye.
After 16 years of depression, after turning 25, It finally cleared. The grey skies of my mind, the doubt of my heart, the ache in my soul. This song explains the feeling I have now as I take on life. The life that I wanted to try for, for so very long. I feel much better! I won't be down anymore! No matter that obstacles come at me now, loss, devastation, bring it on!
It's amazing how much variety Gotye's songs have. Just listen to this compared to Heart's A Mess, Eyes Wide Open, Thanks For Your Time, and his most famous song, Somebody That I Used To Know. Truly one of the most underrated and best musicians out there
Outstanding! Sounds much like Stevie Winwood. Similar emotion and phrasing. Nice updated vibe added to classic British 60s Rock/Blues. Here's a reason to blow a raspberry at those who say there's no good music being produced today. Gotta say it again Outstanding!
