Seasons change
And I’ve tried hard just to soften you
Seasons change
But I’ve grown tired trying to change for you
Cuz I’ve been waiting on you
I’ve been waiting on you
Cuz I’ve been waiting on you
I’ve been weighing on you
As it breaks, the summer will wake
But the winter will wash what is left, of the taste
As it breaks, the summer will warm
But the winter will crave what has gone
Will crave what has all
Gone away
People change
But you know some people never do
You know--when people change
They gain a peace, but they lose one too
Cuz I’ve been hanging on you
I’ve been weighing on you
Cuz I’ve been waiting on you
I’ve been hanging on you
(Chorus)
I’ve been waiting on you…
Seasons change, and I tried hard just to soften you
The seasons change, but I've grown tired of tryin' to change for you
Because I've been waiting on you
I've been waiting on you
Because I've been waiting on you
I've been waiting on you
As it breaks, the summer awaits
But the winter washed whats left of the taste
As it breaks, the summer awaits
But the winter craved whats lost
Crave whats all gone away
People change, even though some people never do
You know when people change
They gain a piece but they lose one too
Because I've been hanging on you
I've been waiting on you
Because I've been waiting on you
I've been hanging on you
As it breaks, the summer awaits
But the winter washed whats left of the taste
As it breaks, the summer awaits
But the winter craved whats lost
Crave whats all
Crave whats all gone away
'Cause I've been waiting on you
I was introduced to the band by this song and for a while, It was only one I knew them by. However, after becoming more familiar with them, this is only the tip of an iceberg
Considering this song is about Love, and the patience love can bring. I am from California and my sister lives in Texas. She and her husband are like this couple. when we think of country folk we image country music... Instead of country lyrics. This song is very very powerful in the aspect of universal acceptance. Love is Love, no matter if you have a cowboy hat on or dreadlocks. Love is the Universal Truth.
When a decidedly not country musician is more respectful for this way of life than a generation of bro country stars that has been festering and pimping out country boys out for years.
I've loved this song for such a long time, but only recently the lyrics have actually meant something to me. I broke up with my girlfriend a couple weeks ago and this shit sums it up so well
Wow. It's been a while since I heard a singing voice that conveyed just about every single possible emotion at once. Seriously, that guy's voice is amazing.
The video is trying to emphasize the power of love between two people and the power of love within community. Those who are afraid to look deeper only see racist cowboys and religious fanatics, it's defense mechanism. Internally the horror of having to genuinely care for your neighbor or fall unconditionally in love with someone is simply to great a reality to deal with and therefore must be destroyed to perpetuate the illusion that is your life...
