Ronnie Lane gone 18 years today. Gone but not forgotten. My rock n roll hero.

Remembering Ian McLagan.  He was a legend for a reason.  Musicians--and people--like him don't come along every day.  His playing on this cover is nothing short of magic.  Will always miss you, Mac, but you will not ever be forgotten.

Looove Ronnie Lane here and his sweet smile and that funny little shuffle he does. The whole band was so good. An excellent song.Those were the days indeed!

Maybe I'm amazed 94 people can't dig this.

The beginning here is really wild. Ronnie Lane delivers the first verse better than 99 out of 100 singers could; strong and sweet enough to break your heart. Then Rod comes in and blows him away; where have you gone, Rod? A great version of a great song.

One of the greatest bands EVER! God this was music for music sake...

There's a lot to like about this version of McCartney's classic. Stewarts voice, Woods lead guitar and the general cohesion of the band. It was a very good band.

Let's not forget Kenny Jones on the skins. Simple stuff but tight as can be. Love it!

Long before Rod became Easy Listening and joined the Oil of Olay brigade.

DJ John Peel rated a Faces gig in Sunderland 1973 as the best live show he ever saw. You get a feel for that in this performance. A band who were much greater than the sum of their parts. Rod Stewart is much better for having to fit in with a group who are his equal, rather than him carrying the whole show as the 'star'.

Every time I see a live Faces performance it reminds me what a live band is supposed to be. They are the absolute definition of Rock & Roll!

Ian MacLagan was the most under-rated, unsung, genius musicians of his generation!

That bass!!! Aw man Ronnie Lane...What a geezer, what a lovely fragility he has to his voice and that thundering bottom end. Fantastic performance, rivals McCartney's original every time.

Back when Ron Wood played some ok guitar, Ronnie Lane is just magnificent on this.

It is easy to see why John Peel rated The Faces so highly.
