Great work on the exchange of glances in this one. I really appreciate how a short-lived communication is established via a mere reciprocal gaze. Sometimes, interactions between people are just that temporary, that fragile... and, somehow, that mysterious.
Don't you want me to stay?
Make a rocking horse getaway
The radio said we're in for a fall
The TV says nothing at all
Out of my window it echoes my heart
I've been checking for change since the start
Collide into me, I could do with a fight
Collide into me, cause it feels right
Does the honesty deceive?
Try to find a way to leave this party
Take it out on me
Cause all the honesty
Shuts this place down
Your bowling ball eyes have nothing to say
They knock me over again anyway
Collide into me, I could do with a fight
Collide into me, cause it feels right
Does the honesty deceive?
Try to find a way to leave this party
Take it out on me
Cause all the honesty
Shuts this place down
The broken hearts of my neighborhood
Lay cast aside like dreams in Hollywood
With the boarded up windows and the closing sales
Does the honesty deceive?
Try to find a way to leave this party
Take it out on me
Cause all the honesty
Shuts this place down
Does the honesty deceive?
Try to find a way to leave this party
Take it out on me
Cause all the honesty
Shuts this place down
One of my all time favourite Editors songs, I'm so pleased they released it as a single. I went to see them live a few weeks ago and their live version of the song was absolutely amazing. My only complaint is the video is shit, could have been so much better, but that doesn't matter as it's a fucking brilliant song.
A brilliant song and something we desperately need from the so called leaders of nations in these difficult times and the coming months. May music like this keep going, and I hope this great band can be on stage somewhere in the not too distant future.
Had never heard these guys before but then stumbled on a Mirror article about vocal range and Tom Smith was top so had a listen to a few of his tracks. Now I'm in the awkward position of having to be thankful to The Mirror :-(, cos these guys are pretty damn good lol.
This is really hypnotic. Go ahead The Editors , you do a very beautiful job ! ;) even if in France I think I'm the only one in my neighborhood knowing about your music...
