11 at the time and just starting High School. The music back then was fantastic. The Jam, The Police, Specials, The Beat, Secret Affair, Madness. Best era to be a kid.

I detest people like Simon Cowell who’s absolutely destroyed the British music industry I come from Birmingham where they came from this brings back memories of a 20 year old kid from Birmingham enjoying the music from the sixties and seventies and the eighties these were a very powerful group at the time although they didn’t have much success after geno and come on Eileen they left a presence that’s carried on for the last 42 years who wants to listen to the absolute garbage that’s out now like take that olly murrs and Adele when Britain was Britain I forgot I don’t like Robbie Williams either I’d rather listen to northern soul the Beatles or some Motown than listen to the rubbish that people like Simon Cowell manages I hope whatever Kevin Rowland’s doing now I hope he appreciates the music he and his band brought out !

Recruit a great band make great music like this then sack the lot then recruit another great band and make more great music then sack most of them. Career rapidly goes down the toilet. Nice one Kev.

Great Brummie band, also spot “the Ramp” in the second picture, every Brummie knows it well.

We knew it was class at the time. I watched my dad - who can moan for England, tap his left foot to songs like this in our old Red cortina...
