I served in the USAF, all veterans are brothers, and we all know how it was and is. Don't thank me for my service, thank the ones who didn't come home.
the canadian flag doesnt fly because of the wind moving it.. but because of the last breath of every soldier who died for it.... RIP to all the soldier who died for our freedom
I'd never heard or known of this song's existence before today. So sad, and so fitting. Rest well, WO Patrice Vincent and Cpl Nathan Cirillo. Your honourable service has ended, and we can ask no more of you than this.
My brother went to afghan on a three month deployment and they were on a patrol mission and he was literally so close to getting sniped by a Taliban sniper. He survived. He's home now. Safe and sound.
Being a proud Canadian soldier, in light of recent events, I am going to sing the hell out of this when they play it tonight, IN MY HOMETOWN OF OTTAWA!!!!!! Proud and Strong I will live for my country and I refuse to be defined by the actions of others. I will create my own fate.
This song makes me cry. I think of all men and women who had died while serving their country. RIP and Salute to all of those who died in uniform. You will never be forgotten
"Carry me softly, down the highway of heroes. True patriot love, there was never more."
RIP Cpl. Nathan Cirillo. Your nation loves you and misses you very much. We will never, ever forget.
