The more I listen to Nas, the more I'm convinced that he is possibly the greatest lyricist I've ever heard. The guy literally delivers everything like a true story teller, his rhythm and coolness paints such a clear picture of what it's like to grow up in poverty on the streets. Not only this but as he's progressed throughout his life he's acknowledged more worldwide problems in his works and outlines the corruption in this world, caused by greed, wealth and power. Nas will always be the king of Hip Hop for me.
First time I heard this I was on the bus headed to a minimum wage 9 to 5. When I heard "I decided now I'm in charge, either stay full or starve" I decided to skip my stop and quit the job.
It was a rough next month, but ultimately it got me to where I am now. I'm much happier and doing what I actually want to do. Thanks Nas. Best album I've ever heard.
